      Job Hunting in Tech

      Manager

I’ve been unemployed for almost a year after moving to Silicon Valley for my husband’s job. I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (3.5 GPA), 3 years of internships (studied and interned simultaneously), and 10 months of engineering work experience. Despite applying with a resume, cover letter, and portfolio, I keep hitting dead ends. I'm going to local networking events and not getting anywhere with that either. Is there a strategy that actually works in this market? I'm at my wit's end.

I'm a mould designer with 10 years experience. My work experience is in designing silicone and plastic moulds (single shot, over-moulds, rotary moulds, prototype moulds). The designs are for the medical industry, consumer products, and car components. I have also engineered secondary silicone injection units. Designed end of arm tooling utilizing 3D printing for robotic part retrieval. In addition to designs I did manager duties. I am willing to relocate anywhere in Canada that is safe.

Neon signs flicker over packed clubs and glowing restaurants, laughter spilling onto rain-slick streets under towering glass. Air taxis hum above as billboards shift from luxury ads to breaking news. Crafted with Sora and Suno AI, this cyberpunk vision blends neon reflections and synthwave beats into a seamless generative dream. 🎬 Watch full video: https://youtu.be/tKJTErevApA?si=LxIqibHx4uA-v05q 🔹Watch more AI Videos: https://youtube.com/@windwaker_art

It's been 2 months since I've had my bioworks Process Technician Certificate and I have applied for so many jobs for the Pharmaceutical field that says you need a bioworks certificate. But I've been rejected so many times. Must of them want you to have Pharmaceutical experience already. I had no idea it would be this hard to get a job in the Pharmaceutical field. Have anyone that has an bioworks certificate been going through the same thing as I am?

Hello everyone, I had applied for Senior BA position in SDC FSO BCM practice (Charlotte Office) at EY and got done with my interview day. The application status on the portal is 'you are in the hiring team phase of your interview process'. It's been three weeks now since the interviews and the status is still the same. I have send two follow-up mails till now and haven't received any response from the recruiter. Please guide me what I should do

It’s been months since I started applying for biotech jobs, and I’m feeling really discouraged. I’ve applied to so many positions, but most companies don’t respond at all — not even a rejection email. For a few interviews I had, I haven’t heard anything back for months. It’s starting to make me feel disappointed and unsure about what I could do better. Has anyone else experienced the same thing in the biotech field, or is it just me?

Have you ever realized that you are great at passing interviews but terrible at choosing the right company? I started noticing a pattern where I could get hired into tech roles quickly, perform well early on, and still feel mentally checked out within months. It made me realize interviewing skills and long term job compatibility are completely different things. How do you screen for culture and work style fit during tech interviews?

It blows my mind how inconsistent interviews still are. One company will ask deep system design questions that test how you think; another will quiz you on trivia straight from Stack Overflow. I’ve seen teams at the same company use totally different standards for similar roles. After all the talk about improving hiring practices, it feels like chaos out there. How is there still no consistency in how tech interviews are designed?

I have been thinking about how hiring trends in tech often follow investment hype cycles. In the 90s, basic web development skills were enough because capital was flooding into dotcom companies and everyone was racing to scale. After the bubble burst, roles shrank and companies became far more selective. With AI roles booming today, are we setting ourselves up to repeat the same pattern?
