What's your take on the "skill gap" in digital marketing? We see a lot of people with certifications who struggle with practical, hands-on tasks. It feels like the education system is failing to produce job-ready talent. Our attempt to address this is a new platform of free, live exams that simulate real-world problems. The goal is to create a way to verify skills, not just knowledge. We just announced it today and would love to get this community's take on the approach. first comment link

SKILLS ...IS THE KEY WORD I resigned from my job with no game plan but great skills to pivot into a field i developed a passion for. I do not have a degree just a high school diploma. I invested my time developing my skills working for 2 fortune 500 companies. Starting entry level working my way up. My resume landed me an 80k job. In 8 weeks developed a tool that is now a game changer in a field i have no experience. All i have is right SKILLS. When interviewing show case your skills

      Career Advice for Students

I've been using my free time recently to learn a completely new skill, not related to my career goals, study, or my part time job. I'm enjoying it, and even though I'm currently not very good, the process is fun. I spoke to a friend about it who more or less said it was a waste of my time to learn a skill not directly related to my career goals, as it wouldn't be able to go on my resume. I'm feeling unsure of whether I need to spend my time better, and do something else.

I have 90 days to become highly employable from scratch and I am determined to use this time to seriously improve my skill set. The number of learning options feels overwhelming, and the paradox of choice is slowing my progress. I want to focus on skills that can be learned to an intermediate level in three months and have strong career return through self teaching. What advanced tech skills would you prioritize in this situation?

What's one skill you wish you had, that you think could help in your current job, or future job search? I've found for myself, I have some passing talent in basic programming and macros, and it's served me well in tool creation...I frequently get asked for help 5-10 years after creating something (I know, crazy right?). Thinking about adding something to my repertoire.

Seems like one of the most useful skills that you can develop is the ability to reset fast. Bad conversation? Move on? Skipped a routine- let it go. Bad day? Start fresh tomorrow. Missed workout? Hit it the next day. Poor decision? Learn and adjust. You can't control what happens to you, but you do have control how long you let it affect you. 💡

Letting my dreams fly high is a way of life. RC planes have always been more than a pastime for me—they are a bridge between my passion for flight and my desire to explore new challenges. There’s something magical about watching an aircraft I’ve carefully prepared lift off the ground, its wings slicing through the sky with grace and power. https://www.dynamrc.com/

Does it ever occur to you that you blindly applied for some jobs and you cleared first round of interview and now they want to do the technical skill interview and you do not have the skill they looking for and mentioned in the job description. How would you tackle this situation. Though i am willing to learn but takes more time to learn new skill.
