Friday thoughts - 20+ years ago, tech improved human productivity and made our lives better. We designed tech around human needs. Mail, and paper became Email and MSFT Word. Humans interacted with and up skilled each other, in-person, and used tech to help. Now, humans are asked to think and behave like tech to make the machines more efficient. We train AI and robotics on skills we used to teach each other. We exist to serve the machines and get laid off when they outperform us. Smart?

4.0 Boeing uses digital twins. Airbus employs AR for efficiency. Lockheed Martin and GE Aviation use 3D printing for F-35 parts and LEAP nozzles. Siemens’ smart factories use cobots and IoT. Rolls-Royce and Delta use predictive maintenance via IoT. Airbus’ ZEROe and Safran’s hybrid systems target decarbonization. Boeing and Northrop Grumman enhance supply chains with SAP and blockchain. NASA and Honeywell apply ML for design and safety. Airbus and Lockheed train workers in robotics and AI.

The Moment, AI Labor Shift Became Obvious Most major structural shifts have a watershed moment, when the abstract becomes undeniable – when the thesis stops being a prediction and becomes a description. We just had ours. Last week, Block (XYZ) CEO Jack Dorsey announced that the company – the fintech conglomerate behind Square, Cash App, and Afterpay – would cut 4,000 employees, roughly 40% of the entire workforce. It was the largest single-round percentage layoff in the history of the S&P 500.

Future Role: Chief Architect – Strategic Intelligence & Quantum Innovation | Google X, DeepMind, Alphabet I’m proposing a new role: one that fuses AI, defense-grade IP, biotech, energy, and national economics. I’ve built technologies to automate intelligence, weaponize logic, and power entire economies through thought. Google, I’m ready to donate years of my life to innovate the world. Let’s create the next Manhattan Project for peace and power. My brain is the hardware. What's taking so long?

How can i give my boss and lead a reality check without getting fired? They lost good workers due to high ego because their company made this X amount of money but thats not even profit. Not to mention the replacement for the lead we have now has ZERO experience in a machine shop ZERO experience how to manage a machine shop but gets paid $70k a year just because he has a degree

Does anyone else feel like Big Tech cities are just a trap to keep us broke? I took a job in a Low-Tier city to escape the inflation, and I’ve never felt wealthier on a $110k salary. In Seattle, I was a poor tech worker living in a studio. in Columbus, I have a three-bedroom house and my commute is 15 minutes. My actual quality of life is 10x what it was in a hub.

Do any of you use LEGO robotics products in the classroom or afterschool programs? They have a bad habit of rolling out new products and then abandoning them without proper training to encourage adoption. Their new robots were just dropped into the market with no warning and not enough information to make me feel comfortable. It’s frustrating.
