Needing advice. I work for a large security company in a small area. Staff is between 5-10, inc 2 supervisors, myself and another. The other supe has completely lost my trust, catching them in lies, inappropriate behavior, dismissing of his staff breaking *serious* policies. I just found out his staff (he has a close tie to) just got ticketed while on the job for theft. The merchant is not supposed to disclose that information to my team, they could lose their job. WDID? More info in comment

      In-House Counsel

Are in-house jobs less safe for job security? In biglaw, if you bill, you’re safe. But if I leave biglaw and join a company and and ChatGPT 7 Legal or whatever is adopted by the company or a GC is told to downsize, I’m going to be the first one out right? Is that something I should worry about generally? Third year thinking I want to go in house but also recognizing I make so much money maybe I should suck it up for 5 more years and then go in house and atleast if I get fired I’ll be safe.

A partner I work with frequently is moving to a new firm. Since he announced he was leaving, there is enhanced security on my computer. For example, if I plug in a USB device, I get a pop-up saying the device is blocked and I should direct any questions to the firm’s general counsel. Is this a typical precaution, or should I expect to be let go when he leaves? The same thing is happening to one other associate who also works with the partner a lot but no one else as far as I can tell.

If you were in my position what would you do? I’ve been talking to my boss about getting a promotion on my team. While I’m grateful this could be an opportunity, I am concerned because that would mean my boss would then become my peer. I get along fine with them now, but they can act like it’s their way or the highway on certain things that I disagree with. I don’t believe they’d fully accept me as their peer. My other option would be to seek a promotion on a different team.

      Career Advice for Students

I am starting next week as a RB1 first time working at Regions Bank. I need advice on making it count and having a great experience so i can build a career in this industry. I am very excited but also nervous because I have read a lot of negativities about working as a teller. Is it as bad as they say? I have handled all kinds of people in my opinion, starting from fast food, retail, furniture industries. As well as toxic environments. Any advice would help, thank you!

Do you ever worry that your group chats with your colleagues will get leaked? I’m in a chat with four other coworkers, and we get pretty feisty in there. It’s a lot of fun, and I think I would have lost my mind by now if I didn’t have this group of people to vent to all day. Is it possible to get in trouble or fired for private conversations if they're uncovered?

Help! What to do if you need to report your coworkers for several security reasons and hazards as I have already gone up the chain of command at my workplace to try and solve the problem. Nothing was accomplished by doing so besides staff retaliating against me. I don't know what to do bow...a s I am worried someone could get hurt or even die because of the violations occurring.

I got a call from a company called Gigster regarding a Security Engineer position. Would anyone know how is the company culture? I was trying to find more information about the company on Glassdoor and not able to find any recent posts. Didn't find anything on Fishbowl or thelayoffs. Any information regarding the company would be appreciated!
