Advice pls: In math case Qs, where info is either provided or revealed upon asking, I sometimes get stuck on approach. My default reaction is to take time to think (to avoid rambling), but staying silent can sometimes lead to dead time without progress. 1. How do you decide if and when to keep thinking vs ask for help? 2. How do you ask for help? I find that when I’m overwhelmed I don’t even know what to ask except for help 3. How do I actually “involve and work thru it with the interviewer”?

      Career Pivot

Everyone says "find your passion" but nobody tells you HOW to actually do that when you're already deep in a career that pays the bills. What worked for me: structured reflection on past experiences → identifying patterns in what energized vs drained me → running small experiments. That loop helped me do 4 pivots and find my way. I built Path to help others do the same - it's an AI career coach who asks the right questions to help you find clarity and map out an action plan trypath.co

I’ve been reflecting on strategies for navigating tough job markets, especially with layoffs happening all around. Is the best approach just to hunker down and hope to secure your current position? A colleague of mine believes that actively seeking new skills and networking can make a significant difference, even in challenging times. It’s about being proactive rather than reactive. What are your thoughts on this? How do you handle job market uncertainties? I’d love to hear your experiences!

Hey All, I have had a very long run as a Senior Soln Architect and I am at a stage where i have the option to take a package and start searching for a new role or accept a new position in the same organisation, the new role may not be as broad as my current role.... Seeking your opinion of i should accept the package (Almost 100k) and start search for a new role in a new organisation.... or should i stay in the same org and move into a different role... as in pursue stability...

How do you push for change or challenge decisions at work without stepping on toes or damaging relationships with people you collaborate with regularly? In cross functional environments it can be difficult to speak up when something does not seem right or when you believe there is a better approach, especially when the decision sits with someone more senior or from another team. How do you raise concerns, offer a different perspective, and still maintain strong working relationships?

Need input on my situation. Offer 1 - Corporate Strategy at Defense Prime. 180k, in-office but it’s a 5 minute commute. Offer 2 - Proposal Manager in Defense Tech, 180k with 100k in RSUs over 4 years, 2 days in office. Love both firms and teams, but torn. Proposals full time isn’t great, but can pivot after a year or so. However, if something happens prior to pivot it will be hard to get non-proposal job, whereas corporate strategy the world could still be my oyster.

Anyone else with a foot in multiple camps? I've done product design, design strategy, research and product management and I'm uncertain what to do next. I've gotten the sense that discovery/early stage research is an area AI is not attacking, but I wish I could pay someone to give me guidance. Not a career coach with an exercise saying 'what are your goals', but someone saying 'considering what you've done, go pivot into x'. (Don't suggest ADP List - it's been useless)

After three years of dedicated effort in my job search, I'm reaching out to the network for guidance. I've consistently encountered challenges moving beyond the initial recruiter interview stage, even after numerous revisions to my applications. The frequent lack of follow-up or actionable feedback after promising conversations has been particularly tough to navigate. I'm actively seeking insights and strategies from those who have successfully overcome similar hurdles.
