I am 60 years old and honestly just completely burnt out. I wanted this job to last until retirement but with reorganization and AI I don’t see that happening. AI just feels completely over my head. Those of you understanding AI what would you recommend to aid an old lady in understanding it.

On my movie watch list - The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist is a deeply personal documentary that explores the existential crossroads of artificial intelligence. The film is framed through Roher’s own journey into fatherhood; as he prepares to welcome his first child, he is gripped by "AI insanity" and the dire warnings that the technology could either save or end humanity. Mostly here to vent. I know AI in production has been used sparingly over the last few years when it comes to projects I have been working on. When I say that, I mean it has been used to clean up a shot or throw some VO over a demo for client presentation…but in the last month I am working on three projects where the solve has been using generative AI to produce a lot of content in a short amount of time. This is has been due to poor planning, budget, and client expectations. (Continued below)

Curious if anyone felt the pressure of AI in the field? I want to stay ahead of the curve and I’m also worried about the job security of our industry. I think most of us see the seeds at our companies being planted to eventuality lean heavier into AI. I think supply chain is undervalued at most companies and would look to cut the cost their first. Has anyone looked into AI certifications or degrees? Has anyone been able to integrate AI successfully into their everyday?

Anyone else completely burnt out with AI as you feel it may be more evil than good? I’m having a real internal struggle with it and I’m literally in charge of it at the moment. It’s making me want to do an about face and do something completely different. Opening a coffeeshop is my dream but being a single homeowner in Florida that will be difficult. Just really want out of the tech world. I want to make a difference in something that won’t be taken over by AI in the future.

      Interview Tips

      Senior Marketing Manager

Has anyone had to answer how they utilize AI in their work/past jobs when interviewing? I’m prepping for an interview and I’m trying to think of the best way to not make it sound like I think it’s the most unethical tool right now. I’ve never used it for work and highly doubt I ever will. The JD for this role is very vague about it but it seems like the team is really pushing to use it in some way even though it isn’t really defined in the description.

I think using AI in Job Hunting is like a eating a mushy Holiday sandwich. You have all the perks of using AI as the moist turkey, and your achievements are all the stuffing, but these multiple layers of AI use in Resumé building and ATS screening creates a mush between cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes. You can still eat that sandwich but you have to get through the messy bits.

AI upskilling paralysis is real. As a PM, I know I need to learn AI, but I'm stuck on how. Do I just grab a generic Udemy ML course and hope for the best? Or is it smarter to use one of these new planner tools to build an actual strategy first (like this one: l.artics-us.com/us)? Is this strategic, or just a new form of procrastination? Would love to know what others are doing.

Really interesting campaign from Anthropic. With the ongoing discourse about poor quality AI generated 'slop', I personally think this is a really strong brand play. Would this make you think differently about Anthropic as an AI brand? https://www.adweek.com/media/anthropics-anti-ai-slop-pop-up-draws-thousands-in-nyc/?itm_source=parsely-api
