Folks, I’m in a bit of a dilemma and need your guidance to decide on an offer. I’ve received offers from BCG (PL) and Strategy& (Manager). 1. Compensation wise, Strategy& offers slightly more. 2. I’ve heard that in the region, Strategy& is regarded more highly than MBB, does a larger share of core strategy work, and has a strong pipeline. 3. The recruiter mentioned that the path to equity partner is faster at Strategy& Would love to hear your thoughts and perspectives. TIA! Strategy& Boston Consulting Group

Strategy manager living very comfortably in a LCOL city. I have gone back and forth between quiet quitting and being thankful to still have a good job in this market. I haven’t even tried to exit because of the morale about market competition. I still don’t have the confidence to think I should expect something better. I’m also not super technical. Feeling trapped.. my wlb is okay, decent comp but not finding much enjoyment in the work. Any advice out there to navigate today’s environment?

Need input on my situation. Offer 1 - Corporate Strategy at Defense Prime. 180k, in-office but it’s a 5 minute commute. Offer 2 - Proposal Manager in Defense Tech, 180k with 100k in RSUs over 4 years, 2 days in office. Love both firms and teams, but torn. Proposals full time isn’t great, but can pivot after a year or so. However, if something happens prior to pivot it will be hard to get non-proposal job, whereas corporate strategy the world could still be my oyster.

Pushing a writer to do strategy: Red flag or NBD? I'm an ACD (Copy) at a small agency. Our Director of Strategy and Creative is our sole strategy resource. I've felt pressure from leadership to move into doing strategy, but nothing explicit and I've been clear that's not the career path I have in mind. Now I've been assigned to do the campaign and messaging strategy, product positioning, and creative brief for a project. I'm not happy. Am I overreacting?

Considering a job offer (title promotion too), but because it's a small and fast growing agency, so I'll be somewhat of a lone wolf strategist. Current agency has a larger strategy team that I work well with, with a great mentor, but have issues outside of the strategy team (and won't get better). For people that have gone from having a strategy community at work to being a lone wolf, how was it? Anything I should keep in mind as I decide?

I recently switched (not by choice) from strategy to programmatic and I had NO idea how much goes on behind the scenes. I worked in investment for a bit prior to switching to strategy, but this is a whole new level. How do you handle having to change roles and having to learn quickly in a short amount of time? Having to activate all of these upcoming holiday launches is stressing me tf out. My team is so stretched thin.

I am on a project where the client keeps asking for a long-term roadmap, but internally they still change priorities every week depending on who spoke loudest in the last meeting. It feels impossible to build strategy when the ground keeps shifting underneath it. How do you create something useful when the organization itself is not stable enough to follow it?

I’m being told I need to “be more strategic” to get promoted, but most of my time is still spent unblocking tickets, clarifying requirements, and keeping sprint work moving. I can carve out time for roadmap thinking, but it usually means something else slips. How did you actually shift into strategy without dropping delivery?

Struggling to make a choice between offers and looking for some advice. Would you move to strategy& but with a very small team and potentially struggle with type of projects you get to work on or move to value creation team at Baringa which is a relatively smaller firm? I don’t know enough about the culture there Strategy& Baringa Partners

How’s everyone doing ? I used to be a regular here but took a break and back now after 2-3 years. I have $140k in IRA and $85K in personal brokerage I need to invest. What’s the current strategy ? Is it still VTI/VOO and chill ? Hold on to cash ? Anything else ? I have no immediate need for this money so seeking a long term strategy.
