Heads up for you young folks just starting out. Used to be a lot of sacrifice to make partner then you had it made for life.Especially at old PW. Now it’s a pain and suffering contest. The more money, the more stress and more pain. It is best for masochists. An unusually large number of partners post on social media about doing marathons and triathlons and other pain endurance contests. Because the pain at work is not enough. If this is not what you want in your life, you’re welcome.

The last year has been challenging. I gave my best through constant chaos and pressure, but the recognition didn’t reflect the effort. I interviewed with over 10 companies I truly admired. Four rolled out offers and later withdrew them. The rest went silent, despite often speaking about empathy and values. Still, I’m moving forward. I’ve reached out to many and will continue to do so. I'm struggling, is it wrong to want more than to just "survive?" I want to find someplace where I can thrive. Where I can grow in to the best version of myself both professionally and personally. I am rapidly reaching the end of my unemployment which leaves us in a really bad situation. I don't want to settle for a mediocre position, not that they are knocking on my door either. What does it take in thos environment to get hired, and once hired what does it take to advance.

Hi All, after some advice on what I should do I'm an engineer at a large defence/manufacturing company and I'm feeling pretty lost I started the discussion nearly 2 years ago with my manager on what I needed to achieve in order to get a promotion first it was "achieve this goal", I did that, and it became "work more antonymous" While vague I'm pretty confident I've achieve that but now I'm being told my "quality of work isn't up to standard". The goal posts keep moving (pt.1)

I have worked at Logility for over 20 years and found it to be very rewarding both professionally and personally. My specific focus is working with our clients improving their supply chain using our software as a tool. I have worked with clients on five continents and on several occasions been able to extend the trip and have my family join me on site for a great vacation. Have been a top performer in my firm and received a fast-track promotion a few months back. However, the past few months have been filled with lots of anxiety, stress, pressure as I am working with a manager that doesn’t seem to be appreciating the work, not fostering a positive team dynamic, and putting lots of pressure on me. I also dislike how much my self-worth seems to be tied to my work performance. Any bible verses that have helped you through similar struggles?
