      Staying Healthy

      Manager
      7mo

Not sure what bowl to put this in, though this one seems fine. Does anyone else have TMD (often incorrectly called TMJ)? If so, on days when it’s painful to talk at work, how do you deal with meetings and spontaneous conversations without it being socially awkward? I don’t talk a ton naturally, but it’d still be awkward to not get my 2-4 lines in during a meeting. I could just say I’m having bad jaw pain that’s flared up and I need to minimize talking, but I want to get other ideas.

      Job Hunting in Tech

      Technical Program Manager
      7mo

I’m the only TPM in my department and am newish to the role, My current manager is happy to let me work how I like but other than general help doesn’t give a lot of practical advice. I don’t have a peer group within my own department to support my growth. There is a department of just Project and Program Managers that I have considered transferring to. My concern is that I would lose my freedom and independence that my current department allows me. Any advice is appreciated.

Incoming T-1 MSF (Grad. '28) targeting PE. Background: 2 years PWM and 3 years institutional AM. Did T-30 MBA (think Rice, UNC, USC) two years out of undergrad to move up internally at old firm. Doing MSF to improve technicals. Interests for IB/PE: Industrials, Special Situations, RE, Healthcare. Two Q’s 1. Path: IB/MBB → PE or attempt direct route into PE? 2. Should I focus on a specific group and how to get relevant experience? Need advice on the most viable path and positioning.

      Tech Strategy & Product

      Program Manager
      2mo

I'm a program manager & want to expand my career surface area by becoming more technical. Many people say technical program managers don't need to know how to code, but need to understand it. I'm trying to take a series of courses here that were originally designed for computer science students: https://kiboschool.github.io/kibo-toc/ Truth is, most people still look for a CompSci degree for TPM jobs. Do you think this is worth it? Is there something else I should be thinking about?

I am looking for insight on Davies TPA as an employer. I value any information- good or bad. Any info on pendings/workload, professional development, work life balance, etc. How do they compare to larger TPAs like GB or Sedgwick? Has anyone worked for them under contract? I’ve seen one or two comments about large scale layoffs recently on another and I’m trying to gauge whether it is risky to accept a position here regardless of pay

      Job Hunting in Tech

      Technical Project Manager
      4mo

Hi everyone, I’m currently searching for TPM/PM roles in Canada, but responses have been minimal despite tailoring applications. I’ve led backend teams and delivered healthcare and startup digital transformation projects, yet I’m starting to wonder if it’s my approach or the market itself. I’m also building an enterprise-grade application as a side project, would adding this to LinkedIn Experience help? Appreciate any advice.

Laid off in 2023, took a contract that ended this year, yet still can’t land a full-time role. 2 more rejections today and depressed. Sn TPM, 8+ yrs experience, would take 100k though market is 180k. Living rural makes commuting impossible with 4H commute and remote roles feel like ghost jobs. Miss being part of a team. Any leads on real remote tech or TPM openings would mean a lot.

I am an EA and my last company was Microsoft. I was wondering how did anyone pivot into product management or TPM? I really would love the opportunity. I do have background in project management already and know python. Has an EA ever made this change? Any tips?
