One of my employees brought up that they think it’s weird all of our team doesn’t eat lunch together. I said I’d make a point to organize more team connection opportunities. Are team lunches a pretty common thing and do people even like them? Some people like their alone time as a break and don’t want anyone to feel pressured.

Is it just me, or does Team Player really mean don’t complain, take on extra work, and smile while doing it? At my job, the people who get praised as great team players are always the ones who stay late, never push back, and quietly clean up everyone else’s messes. Meanwhile, those of us who set boundaries or ask questions get labeled difficult. It feels like team player has become code for doormat. Is there any way to really be perceived as someone who cares about the team without slaughtering your WLB?

I work remotely. Is it legal for a law firm to require their employees to sign on to Teams so that HR can watch us work all day? So creepy and I am feeling very uncomfortable with people watching me. I am currently in front of my personal computer and still feeling creeped out even though I am not signed on to my work computer. It is starting to take a toll on me. Since there is this new protocol, I learned that several people have already quit. Can't blame them. I'm considering it.

I’m starting a one-month video editing contract gig with an agency Tue or Wed. They asked if I knew anyone who could take my unavailable days, and as editors know that gets messy with sharing raw footage remotely, file/folder setups, etc. assuming they don’t have a system in place there already. So they set up a Teams call for tomorrow to figure it out. I do prefer to tackle these issues before it starts, but a “Teams” call feels like billable work. Any suggestions?

So I have been working for a firm where they are about to take away our privilege of working from home. In the meantime, they are making us work on cameras. That's right. We have to sign on to teams where we can see our co-workers working so the powers that be can watch us and make sure that we are working. I believe this is an invasion of my privacy in my home. I think its really creepy that people can watch me while I am working. What are your thoughts?

People don’t talk about this enough, but your work family really matters. I’ve worked in places where the team was toxic, and you dreaded every shift before it even started. Then I moved to a place where the team actually supported each other, checked in on bad days, and didn’t make you feel stupid for asking questions. It changed everything. I actually wanted to show up, do my best, and be there for my coworkers. Crazy how the right team can completely change how a job feels, right?

Hi Experts! Is this a scam? I just did a first round interview at TeamViewer company. They are requesting for the next round that I do a test which involves using their product in a 'trial period'. and then using that data for the interview test. Trial means using my credit card. If this is NOT a scam, it seems a very inappropriate request. Is anyone familiar with this type of interview request and/or with TeamViewer? They appear to be a legit company, but this rings alarm bells.

4 day trade show with your boss and other company workers. Your direct team isn't attending other than your boss. 1st day you all have a team dinner and then after dinner half the group goes out for drinks(including your boss) to party, the other half goes back to the hotel. Keep in mind you are working the booth all week talking to customers. Go out to party or head in with the rest of the group - which do you choose?

There’s a person on my team who hasn’t turned their camera on in 3 years. Nobody really knows what they look like and somehow they’re still employed lol. We live in some weird times! Do you turn your camera on or always keep it off?
