      Does any hourly employee work more than 40hrs. per week but not clock their OT hours? I "manage" an entire department, with no other staff. Because I don't manage peopl, I cannot be a salaried employee. I have a high workload-some weeks are lighter than others, some are very heavy. The company frowns upon any OT, but my work ethic makes me a workload watcher and NOT a clock watcher. I fear becoming a clock watcher could be viewed as a work slowdown or "strike"--neither of which fit my DNA.

      Had a chat with an HR rep yesterday and mentioned that I'm actively interviewing around. They promised to provide feedback today/Monday, to move fast, and to have the process move within a timeframe of about two weeks. Also, the recruiter I work with called to make sure I don't need visa sponsorship 30 mins after the interview. Anyways, that's the first time I heard the figure of "fast" get specific. I'm guessing this means interest?

      A partner scheduled a “quick 15-minute check-in” today that somehow lasted an hour and a half. It happens every time. My whole afternoon derails because their definition of quick is whatever suits them in the moment. I feel guilty setting boundaries with someone who controls my workload, but I’m drowning in calendar creep. How do you enforce time limits without looking ungrateful or inflexible?

      Hot take, I prefer a job without a lot of downtime. I have worked jobs that were both very busy or very slow and some in between. But I think at jobs where the pace is slow it's easy to get so comfortable thay you push off the things you actually need to get done. I also think a faster atmosphere makes the day go by faster. Do you prefer a fast paced or slow paced work day?

      I caught a doctor entering a verbal order that they forgot to mention during rounds, and now the chart looks like I missed a step. It’s a small change, but it makes me look incompetent and procedurally slow when the timestamps don't line up. I don't want to start a war over a dosage timing, but I also don't want my name attached to a messy paper trail. What would you do?

      On hourly projects, I constantly debate how precise I should be with my time. Do I track literally every 7-minute email exchange and upload, or do I “round down” to keep from looking nitpicky? I don’t want to undersell myself, but I also worry about looking greedy or unprofessional when I bill for all the little tasks that add up. How do you handle it?

      I've been working around the clock to deliver a brand platform and a campaign, which means I haven't had a real weekend for two weeks and I have often kept working till 11pm. My profile is a bit peculiar as it's my first year doing planning but I came in as a senior (I made a previous career count). I'm aware I'm slow but is it normal a pace?

      How particular is your agency about the time you clock in? I'm always 5-10 minutes late, but my work is never suffering because of my lack of punctuality. My HR manager said they might have to start cutting out of my compensation for running late, and I guess it's fair, but it also seems a little extreme. How does it work for you?

      My team has been expected to hit every holiday event on the map this month. It’s great for the relationships, of course, but my desk time is nonexistent, and I’ve got deals to close. How do you all manage to keep the momentum going when your schedule is 90% cocktail hours? I'd like to make quota without all the stress.

      When I’m dating I like to take a slower pace and establish some trust and set a few boundaries, as opposed to jumping in head first (which makes me uncomfortable and scares me when people push this) but when I do try to take a slow pace, it seems like people are taking it as disinterest and it fizzles out.
