Gain more confidence in your speaking & you won't feel awkward. Toastmasters is a great way to develop public speaking skills & enable you to respond to ad hoc queries & learn how to analyze the audience before you try to make an impact! Develop sales skills; these skills carry over for introverts and enable you to speak up more as needed in the workplace. Good luck in your career. It seems you are asking all the right questions to enable you to be effective on teams and with your clients!

I am traveling quite a bit in October starting next week, and thought of getting ahead by batch prepping pancakes last night. I froze half of them, and kept others in refrigerator for breakfast next week. I also kept scrambled eggs, protein savory and sweet muffins etc.,, just usual stuff to make it a little easy on my husband. My son woke up early than usual today aged 4, and finished off half of the pancakes and egg muffins... I understand he was hungry but they were cold pancakes and muffins!

Thanksgiving used to be my free pass to totally check out, but now I’m trying to rest on purpose, not just collapse. I used to roll into the long weekend completely fried: no workouts, eating whatever, glued to my phone, then wondering why I still felt exhausted after resting. This year, I’m trying to be a little more intentional and stretch in the morning, take walks, actually talk to my family. Nothing intense, just… present. Do you treat holidays like a reset, or do you say screw it and unplug completely?

here’s the real hit list of why you’re already cooked at 9 a.m.: you never actually recovered from last week your sleep debt has compound interest now the weekend was 90% scrolling and 10% “i deserve this nap” coffee is just hot bean water lying to you your body knows the workweek is a 5-day boss fight with no save points existential dread loads faster than outlook basically your inner turtle looked at the calendar, said “nope,” and retracted into the shell until friday. same, king. same. 🐢💤

Okay...so... I will finally admit I am burnt out to a crispy piece of charcoal toast. Realized after feeling numb and not even playing basic phone games (let alone picking up my Switch, let alone read, write, do anything I used to enjoy). Could it be pure depression? Sure. But it's more likely the 16 work days and well...current news. I feel tired deep down into my soul. Like my next life is already tired kind of tired. What can I do? Where do I start with burnout?

I've been toasted... not just burned out.. almost two years ago now - and i went on a journey to "fix" it.. felt the need to get myself out of the emotionally pitch black hole it felt i was in... and I tried it all, journaling, changing social circles, eastern practices, western medicine, meditation, reading, hiking, working out, traveled across the states and abroad, and other stuff (may get me banned from fishbowl, if mentioned here)... continued

I lived in Philly all my life until a year ago, and every Thanksgiving, I'd get the Wawa gobbler (pretty much Thanksgiving in a sandwich), and they were SO GOOD. I've been trying to find something like that here, but the closest I came to was a sandwich with grape, celery, turkey, and mayo. It just wasn't it. Does anyone here know what I'm talking about and know where I can get one??

How do you politely decline the office coffee-and-donuts routine? I had a strategy alignment meeting with our executive VP, and our entire discussion happened over a massive, sugar-laden pastry spread and endless refills of dark roast. I need to find a way to navigate these high-stakes networking mornings without wrecking my nervous system for the rest of the day.
