I have also worked as an intern business analyst at a pharmaceutical company where I worked primarily with sales data. However, I am finding it increasingly difficult to land a job in data analytics or data science domain. Nevertheless, I am exploring the world of finance and applied data analytics and predictive modelling. I would greatly appreciate any tip, learning path, or project.

Just finished 'Data Science for Business' by Foster Provost & Tom Fawcett. What stood out most is its business-first approach to analytics, based on an NYU MBA course and real-world decision scenarios. A key insight: the biggest risk in analytics isn’t using the wrong model, but solving the wrong business problem. The book reinforces starting with decision clarity and translating insights into actions leaders trust. A great read for anyone building a business analytics mindset.

Currently working in data science consulting with ~3YOE and very much interested in making the pivot over to a data science team at a PE firm working on both DD and with portCos. I had about 7 rounds of interviews with a UMM before they gave the job to someone with more experience unfortunately so i definitely have the skillset but just don’t know where to look for more opportunities. Would appreciate any leads!

I have a diploma of Higher Education in Physics and 6 years if experience working in finance across various areas. I have done as many free courses as possible but without paying or going back to university I am struggling to find a way in, Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
