The roller coaster I go on with every new project I’ve been on over my ten years in consulting. Phase 1: Oh, this sounds like an interesting project. Let’s do it! Phase 2: Hm, this is a mess and I may be out of my element - but I think I’m starting to get it. Phase 3: Holy Hell, this thing is a dumpster fire! Get me out! Phase 4: Okay, it’s hot in here but I think I can handle it. Lock in. Phase 5: “Hi, new team members…welcome to Hell. You’re never leaving…😈” Phase 6: …interesting project ➡️

My department all have our classrooms right next door to each other this year and wanted to take advantage of that. We have an idea for escape room stations that would be divided up among the classrooms and students would rotate through. I was curious if anyone else has attempted a similar activity with students moving from one classroom to another, or has any ideas for Best Practices to keep the activity running smoothly. We hope to use this review as a test run for a future Hamilton lesson.

It should not take snaps, claps, music, phrases, and tunes to get students to pay attention. The attention span of these kids is a -0. “Please get out your books and turn to page 12” has now turned to Clap, once, clap twice. Level O, get ready set: open up your books to page 12 (repeat twice) because if you repeat once you’re only going to get about half the class ready. After that there’s still going to be 5 staring into space, with no book in sight. It’s exhausting. Am I alone in this?

      Career Advice for Students

      Founder

I've seen few posts about students being unsure with what to do next in their career. Just want to tell you, your degree doesn't define you, your first job doesn't dictate your entire career path and lastly, every skill you learn in transferable in a way. I had a hard time at the beginning of my career and wish I had something to help me. I decided to just build it. It's called Path AI (on App Store), it helps you explore various career paths and get a roadmap to get there. Hope it helps!

I worked as a trainer for a trucking company. I facilitated in-class training and managed continuous learning by creating PPTs and uploading MP4 videos to an LMS. I do not have formal training in instructional design or a college degree, but want to pursue this career. I'm working on learning Articulate and upskilling with other multi media and editing tools, and brushing up on learning methodologies. My concern is the lack of the degree. I have 6+ years experience, but will that be enough?

I want to do a gen ai course but a lot of my experience with gen ai has been prompt engineering or even with agentic ai I felt like I was largely copying and pasting from documentation. I want to something that is ideally not self paced or certificates but a session or 3 day or so course where it’s hands on and interactive. Learning about RAG, MCP etc any advice? I also want to do a course to be better with my knowledge on data architecture or modelling - * continued in comments

I gave up on my planned lesson one day and just told my students to write whatever they wanted for 20 minutes. No topic, no rubric, nothing. The room was completely silent. Kids who never participate were writing the whole time. One student who barely turns anything in filled two pages. After I read through them I felt like I finally knew my students. Best lesson I did all year. Has anyone else had a lesson accidentally work out better than anything you actually planned?
