      Associate

SKILLS ...IS THE KEY WORD I resigned from my job with no game plan but great skills to pivot into a field i developed a passion for. I do not have a degree just a high school diploma. I invested my time developing my skills working for 2 fortune 500 companies. Starting entry level working my way up. My resume landed me an 80k job. In 8 weeks developed a tool that is now a game changer in a field i have no experience. All i have is right SKILLS. When interviewing show case your skills

      Job Hunting in Tech

The modern tech workforce is becoming increasingly international. Companies now hire talent from across the world, giving candidates access to opportunities that might not have existed a decade ago. While technical skills remain important, I have found that communication, adaptability, and the ability to work with people who think differently are becoming just as valuable. Which skill has helped you most when working with people from different backgrounds in tech?

Every year the pressure to skill up gets louder. Like learning new AI tools, new regulations, new business development trends. It feels like standing still means falling behind, even when you’re already juggling a full caseload. I want to stay relevant, but trying to learn everything is exhausting. There’s no roadmap for what actually matters long-term. How do you decide which skills are worth investing in and which ones are just noise?

Being a trainee at TP Cebu taught me a lot about professionalism. I used to be shy, but the training encouraged me to speak up, share ideas, and participate. We also had fun team activities that built strong friendships among us. Our trainer always reminded us that attitude is as important as skills, and that really stuck with me. I’m grateful because TP gave me a chance to grow personally and professionally.

What's one skill you wish you had, that you think could help in your current job, or future job search? I've found for myself, I have some passing talent in basic programming and macros, and it's served me well in tool creation...I frequently get asked for help 5-10 years after creating something (I know, crazy right?). Thinking about adding something to my repertoire.

Seems like one of the most useful skills that you can develop is the ability to reset fast. Bad conversation? Move on? Skipped a routine- let it go. Bad day? Start fresh tomorrow. Missed workout? Hit it the next day. Poor decision? Learn and adjust. You can't control what happens to you, but you do have control how long you let it affect you. 💡
