      Salaries in Tech

      works at JPMorganChase
      4mo

Can anyone share what software space is like in Manchester, UK? Salary vs cost of living? Specific tech stack that is dominant? Overall health -- are people getting laid off often? Any specific companies I should look out for (mainly aware of Booking.com, Autotrader, Starling, Lloyds)? I'm looking to relocate but have no professional connections there. I have been a full stack software engineer for almost 3 years now, mainly for American banks and would not mind similar roles.

      Career Pivot

      Software Engineer
      9mo

Hi all, I’ve been a software developer for 8+ years with a decent mid-range salary, but my true passion has always been electrical work. I enjoy doing home projects like switches, fans, and lights, and I love working with tools. I’m thinking of switching careers and wonder: what’s the best path to reach $100k+ in California? Union, apprenticeship, solar/EV work, or something else? Also, can my software background help in automation or smart homes?

      The Worklife Bowl

      Remvx LTD
      1mo

Hey everyone, I built Remvx myself after getting tired of ScreenConnect and NinjaOne — either too expensive, too heavy, or too complicated. It’s a fast, lightweight Remote Access + RMM tool: quick remote desktop, device monitoring, scripting, updates, and reports — all in one simple console. Now live and testing with first users. If you’re an MSP or handle IT support, DM me if you want to try it. Honest feedback welcome 🙏 #Remvx #RMM

I’m looking at renting a small office studio space for work. I read on google I could expense 100% of the rent and utilities for this space. I have an S. Corp set up. Does this all check out or is there anything I need to watch out for in order to write off 100% of that space? 1099s have been rare so like 95% of my income this year has been W2, just for reference.
