Can anyone speak to WLB in DC lit groups as well as if any of them would allow for remote work to start? I’m at a lit boutique and make great money (significantly above market) but consistently approach or exceed 300 hours a month. Love litigating and firm life but just want a slightly more WLB (would even be fine billing in the mid-high 2ks). I’d like to move back to DC but won’t be able to for another 2 years. Open to ideas on which firms to target.

During our latest all-hands meeting, the VP decided to address our teams' “concerns” about the lack of WLB. He stated that WLB isn’t really a thing in this economy and we should all just be happy to have a job. Then he said what we should all actually be striving for is work life integration. He looked so smug, but didn’t bother to explain what that meant. But, is he right that WLB is just a dream in this market?

WTS UK / Unity - thoughts on new UK challenger firms? Ive not seen any practical competition from Unity Advisory yet, and now WTS are launching a new UK firm with similar sounding ethos. Some colleagues are more worried about them poaching good staff rather than clients in the short to medium term. Interested in others views on whether they could be a real threat to Big4 longer term.

I am curious people ‘s experience in negotiating WFH. I wonder if the company is willing to allow WFH so the candidate is willing to accept a lower than expected effort, because when I tried to ask HR during the first round, they makes it sounds line the range is set and the RTO is company policy, so no really any wiggle room in any perspective…..

WFH is officially dead; RTO is in. How did we fumble so badly? How did we go from remote work being the default, to now it being an extreme rarity?

WLB is just a buzzword these days. Leaders talk and preach about it but then turn around and expect people to be online at all hours, "for the team". If you're at a company that actually values WLB, what do they do to make sure it's a priority?

PwC folks! Thinking of transferring to Private Companies tax group as senior. I am currently in WAM tax at EY. I was told that WAM at EYis similar to AWM at PwC. How is WLB at the Private Companies team ? As a WAM folk at EY, the busy season hours are 60-75

I currently work in the IT dept at a carrier and I’m looking into some UW trainee positions. The work day is a bit more flexible in the IT dept so I was wondering if usually the UW work hours are very structured?
