A little bit of a rant: I was holiday shopping at the mall and was overwhelmed with the amount of people purchasing item from high end luxury stores. My salary would be in the top 5% of individual earners but I would feel anxious making purchases at high end luxury stores. Where are these people getting the money from and how are you so chill about making such high end purchases? P.S. this is not work related but I would like to rant like this on some app which is not abt work. PlsRecomend?

After being there for over 15 years, they just told us they are cutting our yearly bonus so they can line their own pockets as all GREEDY corporations do who do not give a flying fig about their loyal employees! This is totally insulting and it will come back to bite them for sure. I will be quitting this company because of the corporate greed exhibited at this hospital year after year. Way to go LVHN! EVERYBODY suffers from corporate greed. You are now Wal-Mart!

Got an offer letter​ from Walmart Inc., at Bentonville. The job description said the range is $70K - $130K. And they offered me $90K saying this is even higher and wouldn’t get approved. Apparently it did. I got very similar strong experience for the role. I was expecting well around $100K, should I negotiate on this? How would you handle it? I acknowledge the job market is bad, and Arkansas is comparatively cheap. Seeking advice.​

Great news! Economists were proven wrong again. Walmart, as a bellwether for the U.S. economy and consumer confidence had strong earnings and guidance. Same-store sales for Walmart U.S. rose 4.5% in the quarter that ended Oct. 31. The company raised its full-year earnings and sales outlook Thursday, heading into the crucial holiday shopping season.

No wonder Walmart employs only TFWs and immigrants. Driving wages lower. Offering 90k to 125k for a role that requires 5+ YoE in a variety of skills. They obvioualy won't offer the mex and will start someone off at 105k. Shameful! These are numbers the market offered in 2018!!

Evening all, I’ve been a deputy store manager at a supermarket for the past 3 years and to be totally honest it’s burning me out. I’m looking for a bit of direction, what have others applied for/ what are their desired jobs. Ideally would be looking for a way out of retail as a whole but am open to ideas. TIA!

Has anyone worked in Trader Joe's? Every time I walk in there, I feel warm and like everyone in the store is probably very kind. Am I making a baseless assumption or is it really like that? Also, who does the in-store artwork? I hope it's not a requirement to work there, cuz there's no way I could do it.

I've only worked for chain establishments and my curiosity for more mom and pop stores/ boutique stores/ gourmet stores has been chasing after me for a while now. Does anyone have experience with such stores? What would you say the compensation is like compared to your usual grocery stores range?
