      Software Engineering

      Software Engineer
      11mo

I have a bs in CS, 1 year of internships xp in ML and about 2.5 yrs xp at an early-stage startup I worked at after graduating. In 9/2022 I had to leave for health reasons and took 6mo to recover before starting to search for jobs again. I was getting Interest for ~3 mo before app hit rate dropped off completely. I took a nontech job after about a yr and Ive been there since. Im coming up on 3 yrs out of swe and out of tech now. Is there anything I can do to recover my career at this point? Thnks

Not magic-just the right people and the right rooms, finally opening. If you’re in your own quest: keep shipping, keep leveling, keep showing up. Drop a win below—any size. Let’s boost each other. 🚀

      Desktop Support Engineer
      3mo

Hi everyone, I need guidance in the future, as I'm starting with Computer Technician, and now as Desktop Support Engineer, how do I proceed in the future? Am I qualified to go to the back end (I don't have a strong background but I'm willing to learn as I'm also learning about Microsoft 365 for my support purposes) or should I continue working the same role in different companies until I achieve Senior Support Engineer? Just asking for suggestions and guidance from all the experts here 🙌🏻

      7mo

Hello I'm looking for some advice, I'm an electronic technician that went back to school to do computer science and now I'm on track to finish next month, I've been looking for new opportunities and I can't even get a call back, I fear that technician jobs see I'm graduating soon and don't want to hire someone that'll probably leave soon and programmer jobs see I have no work related programming xperience. What's the best way to break in and find my first opportunity?

Hi Everyone! I'm exploring new opportunities in QA Automation and would love to connect with teams looking for someone with hands-on experience in Python, Selenium, Robot Framework, API Testing, and SQL. I've worked on building automated test suites, improving test coverage, and supporting Agile development teams. I'm currently looking for remote or hybrid QA Automation role. If you know of any openings or teams hiring, I'd happy to connect. Thank you!

Hi guys, I'm an administrator but wanting to change career to get into software engineer hopefully. But the real pain is getting the experience as a newby I've been doing some projects on my own learning from tutorials here & there but can't find a way to gain experience. I'm ready to even work for free or volunteer to get my foot in the door as long as it shows on my cv as an experience. I live in west yorkshire, any leads will be highly appreciated.

I was doing freelance work today and ran into a dilemma. I started using my older computer for a freelance project, since the newer one doesn't have the requirements for the project I am doing. However it decided to break in the middle of it. I am debating on getting a new computer with the requirements needed, however I am worried about the work not being stable. Have you ran into this with either job search or freelance and what would you do?

Hello everyone I’m currently open to new opportunities, remote or on-site. After almost 8 years at Dell Technologies as a Senior Technical Support Engineer, Trainer, and Project Coordinator, I’m ready to bring my experience in technical support, troubleshooting, documentation, and customer guidance to a new team. If you know of any openings or can refer me, I’d truly appreciate it. Thank you! 🙌

Hi! Interviewing for a role at Mastercard as an engineering SVP (L3?) in Copenhagen. Can someone please share some total comp numbers so I can know what I am walking into? Will circle back and confirm/update as this proceeds. 20+ years of engineering experience starting as SWE and now several big tech and notable companies in senior management and executive roles for half of that.

What does experience even mean? I have 6 of experience in Software QA Engineering position and my last job for the last 4 years did only manual testing so I either forgot or dont recall half the stuff for automation. Now how do I go about it in interviews? Do I be honest? Or relearn skills cause last 4 years barely learnt anything other than office politics or basic stuff.
