Crazy how quickly China is outpacing the US. In pharma, they're now a leader in drug discovery. Recently Pfizer announced a $6B deal to license cancer drugs from a Chinese startup. It's the same story in auto. Tesla, Mercedes, Ford — they all use batteries from CATL, which has 48% market share. Largest IPO this year. Meanwhile, the car makers are themselves voluntarily entering JVs (haven't been required for 5 years) to learn from Chinese EVs. They don't have the tech. It's us copying now.
