Taking vacation in Scotland in Nov. Will hike on the Isle of Skye and do nice dinners in Edinburgh. Any wardrobe suggestions for for men? Google+blogs say layering, but I’m specifically looking to understand the WAY Scottish people layer (e.g. PNW layers with collared flannels; in the Midwest it’s Carhartt hoodies; NE loves fisherman sweaters). And if you have thoughts on specific footwear I’d greatly appreciate it (looking at Hunter Chelsea boots).

Do you think restaurants should have a cap on how many modifiers a guest can add? I had someone basically redesign an entire menu item with 14 different mods... extra this, no that, substitute here, sauce on the side, gluten-free, dairy-free, but make it crispy. The ticket was so long the expo grabbed it just to laugh. At a certain point it stops being hospitality and starts being chaos.

Had my 5th interview with this company today. Asked for potential next steps at the end because I thought it was the end of all of this, and they said I'd probably meet with 1 or 2 more people. I'm tired man, but I guess I have no choice really.

When you are interviewing and you get to pick among a number of time slots, do you pick the first slot? the last? something in the middle? When hiring, I never really thought about whether I hired more from the earlier or later interviewees. Has anyone thought about it?
