Am I the only one struggling to find a fully remote design job these days? I'm a graphic designer with experience in branding, editorial design, motion graphics and digital content. I've been applying for remote roles across Europe for months, but most opportunities are now hybrid, location-restricted, or incredibly competitive. I don't even need a huge salary. I just want the freedom to work remotely and be part of an international team. Any advice from people who made it happen recently?
Was recently laid off and going to try freelancing until I find something full-time. I've never done this before. How do you guys come up with your rates? What do I need to know from a tax standpoint?
Should I be playing coy when doing cold outreach? My ultimate goal is to get on someone's radar for a job. Seeing some stuff along the line of 'just ask to get coffee and feedback on your book' but wouldn't I want to be (tactfully) upfront?
Earlier this year, I pushed for a promotion but was told to wait until the next cycle in June/July. While waiting, I started exploring opportunities elsewhere. No offers yet but I’ve been getting interviews. My question: if I get promoted this cycle, then later receive a better offer abroad and decide to leave soon, would that burn bridges with my current agency? Would appreciate any advice from people who’ve navigated something similar.
Big hotel corp knows for good creative wants to interview me for a senior cw role. Salary tops at $98k and I was earning $135k before losing my job. I’ve been interviewing for many ACD/CD roles but nothing yet — something will come, but im thinking of taking this job and then quitting. Why would they even interview me if they know im overqualified? Thoughts?
The one that you are most proud of, which demonstrates you can operate at the level you want to be at.
