      Pros

Pay and benefits are good, people for the most part are helpful

      Cons

Management gives you a false sense of security. Everything seems to be going well, then layoffs. Bad hiring management, a large number of staff were hired only months before their most recent round of layoffs in April. No clarity on size of RIF but looks to be about 20%. Seems like layoffs are the norm as they can’t figure out their staffing needs.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. We recognize that workforce changes are difficult and can create uncertainty, particularly for those directly impacted. At Datarails, hiring decisions are made based on business priorities and growth needs at a given point in time, while organizational adjustments reflect the reality that markets, customer demands, and strategic focus can evolve quickly. These decisions are never taken lightly. We remain committed to building a strong business, supporting our employees through change, and maintaining a workplace where people feel valued, challenged, and able to grow. We appreciate the positive comments regarding compensation, benefits, and colleagues, and we wish you success in your next chapter.

Flexible work, casual environment, solid product

      Cons

Pay and benefits could use a bit of work

Toxic culture and low pay, layoffs

      Pros

The team is great Products have an interesting premise, but more on the issues below Can make a decent amount of money if you have opportunity to sell some opportunity to move up or to different teams, but only afforded to specific teams and where you start. Not all departments have this option. Growth is limited to manager favorites. benefits are good

      Cons

The culture is one of the worst I have worked for. Some employees and managers try to make it fun and good but it doesn't matter because the top brass makes it clear that they don't care about employees. You will not be given the tools or leads needed to do your job Layoffs again right after raising funding and talking about things being good. base pay was low for my department, not sure about the others. Leaders are short sited and don't listen to customers or employees who talk to customers and prospects on the daily Chooses to spend on things no one cares about instead of fixing existing major problems, ignores criticism of very real issues with the products, but no energy is put into fixing those. Instead, new products are created.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. We’re glad to hear you had positive experiences with your team and benefits, though we’re sorry your overall experience left you feeling disappointed. Periods of change, especially during times of growth and market adjustment, can create difficult moments and hard decisions across a business. While those decisions are never easy, they are made with long-term sustainability, customer needs, and the future of the company in mind. We know experiences can vary across teams and leaders, and we continue to invest in strengthening communication, manager effectiveness, and the overall employee experience as we evolve. We appreciate your feedback and wish you the best moving forward.

All the downside of a fast growing start-up.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good benefits - from salary and insurance to gifts and events. work remotely (even if there are site days, they are very flexible about it). no micro-managment. fast-growing, so a lot of career opportunities around the corner (not yet though)

      Cons

As a fast growing startup, everything feels all over the place, New products are launched before the team is even trained on it, Nothing is documented, internal communication is awful. Managers are un-experienced/just not good enough of managers (good people though). The product has tons of bugs and the CSM are left to handle with it

Thank you for sharing your feedback and for your contributions during your time with Datarails. We appreciate your acknowledgment of the benefits, flexibility, and autonomy we strive to offer, as well as your recognition of the opportunities that come with a fast-growing environment. That said, we also hear your concerns. Growing pains are real, and we recognize that rapid expansion can sometimes outpace internal processes like documentation, training, and communication. These are areas we’re actively working to improve—alongside investments in leadership development and external expertise to help us scale more effectively. We’re proud of how far we’ve come, but we’re equally committed to evolving as we grow. Thank you again for your time with us, and we wish you continued success in your career.
