I was not sure how the panel of 3 wanted this answer. Tom was asking this question which from memory I answered from a monitoring system perspective this also uses the ICMP packets. He thought this was incorrect and wanted to hear about ping. To me this showed the interviews capability not to understand technical questions or how to ask them in a interview. The interview seemed not to be a find out but attack on questions and answers. Even if Tom was not aware of the correct scenario. I had made my mind up on the way out of the interview to decline. I found the interview on the whole a attack. It put me off the company and I would not recommend to anyone. If you do go, swat up on the PI test, I have seen others comment this is used as a guide through out the company. I am not sure how certain this is but I found the test easier at home rather than in the interview senario as the first half hour is the test, then onto the panel and questions.
