From Linkedin. She happened to be online when I sent her a quick note so we had a conversation. I got to know her a bit and she seems very nice. (After I answered she gave me a long-winded story about how she knows the CEO. How long they have been friends, being present when the CEO’s child was born, etc). I reflected on my interview afterwards and determined she must have thought I was impeding on her friendship with the CEO. Hence the long "I-Know-Her-Better-Than-You" story - making it excruciatingly awkward.
