In 2010, a second neurologist was added and a Neurology / Neurosurgery residency program was started. In Fall 2011, the Critical Care department expanded with the addition of a second criticalist. In 2012, a second internist and a third neurologist were also added.

Land was purchased in October 2012 for the building of a new facility. Groundbreaking for the new hospital took place in January 2014.

Construction was completed and on August 25, 2014, the new Center for Veterinary Specialty + Emergency Care officially opened. The hospital now operates a 24/7 emergency room.
