Description Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) is a comprehensive non-profit social service agency that, over the past 125 years, has become an essential part of the Rhode Island community by providing support to children and families from birth to adulthood through services focused on three general areas--physical and mental health, education, and overall well being. Every program or service FSRI offers is geared towards promoting healthy families and strong communities.
Our offices are located in Providence, with children's residential treatment facilities in Smithfield, North Smithfield, Bristol, and East Providence. We are accredited by the Council on Accreditation, and state licensed for behavioral health services and substance abuse treatment. We are also state-certified and state-contracted to provide a wide variety of developmental and mental health services for children and adults of all ages, and hold a dual license for special and regular education.
FSRI has over 300 staff members, including board certified psychiatrists, licensed mental health clinicians, educators, physical, occupational and speech therapists, nurses, case managers and many others. More than a dozen languages are spoken including Spanish, Creole, Portuguese, Khmer, and Laotian.
