Description Korea Zinc primarily produces zinc and lead for use in steel, automobiles, and construction materials. Other operations include gold, silver, platinum group metals, and copper production. The company has overseas subsidiaries and affiliates in Australia, Canada, and Thailand. (It did at one time operate in the US but sold that business in the middle of the last decade.) Founded in 1974, Korea Zinc gets about 40% of its sales from its zinc operations. Silver and lead each account for about half of that. It is South Korea's largest processor of both zinc and lead.
