Mission Small Door is reimagining the veterinary experience by delivering superior care, increased transparency and access, empowering pet parents with knowledge and giving them better insight into their pet’s health and well being. With a dynamic and holistic approach to concierge-level health management, we help pets and pet parents live better lives together.
Our Core Values We hold ourselves to high standards that show in everything we do We practice our unique specialties to bring the highest quality of service and care to our patients on a daily basis.
We work collaboratively to build stronger teams and produce better outcomes There is no job too big or small for us to get done with each other yet making sure we are using our time most effectively.
We believe in transparency Transparency is our wheel turner - in a fast paced environment, we share information with each other so nothing is a shock or surprise. We have all the information to empower us in our roles daily. Before we conduct any procedure, you should know what it will cost and your payment options: no hidden fees, no surprises. Our rates are fair and clearly communicated without a lot of “medicalese.”
We treat everyone with respect and empathy We always put respect and empathy first, regardless of the type of person/pet we are speaking to and take a step back to understand how to approach each situation.
We celebrate our successes and own our mistakes We work hard and deserve to celebrate our wins together and also learn from our opportunities.
Description Small Door is membership-based veterinary care designed with human standards that is better for pets, pet parents, and veterinarians alike. We designed and delivered a reimagined veterinary experience via a membership that includes exceptional care, 24/7 telemedicine, and transparent pricing - delivered with modern hospitality in spaces designed by animal experts to be stress-free. We opened our flagship location in Manhattan's West Village in 2020 and have quickly expanded across the East Coast. Small Door now operates in New York City, Boston, and Washington DC with ongoing national expansion plans.
The Stephen & Christine Schwarzman Animal Medical Center (AMC) is the world’s largest non-profit animal hospital with 120+ veterinarians providing the highest quality medical care across 20+ specialties and services, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our mission to provide the best in care, research, and education has been the foundation of our work for over a century.
Individuals from all over the city come to Animal Care Centers every day of the week for reasons as diverse as surrendering pets, reclaiming lost cats and dogs, and adopting new furry family members. We strive to find loving homes for homeless and abandoned cats, dogs, and rabbits, both by adopting animals directly to the public and by partnering with more than 200 dedicated animal placement organizations (our New Hope partners). Our field services division responds to calls from the public to help keep NYC communities safe and rescue animals in need, and we have facilities in all five boroughs.
