The practice, deeply disliked by US manufacturers, has been ruled legal by the Supreme Court. Quality King distributes its products to pharmacy and grocery chains, grocery distributors, and wholesale clubs throughout the US. Subsidiary QK Healthcare distributes branded and generic prescription pharmaceuticals. Bernard Nussdorf and his wife Ruth founded Quality King in 1961 in Long Island, New York. The Nussdorf family still owns the company.
