Hala Ride Dubai was founded in 2019 through a joint venture between Careem and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai. This collaboration brought together Careem’s tech-driven, multi-modal transportation platform and the RTA’s expert industry knowledge to transform how people move around the city.
Through the Careem app, Hala Ride offers reliable, accessible taxi services to residents and visitors alike, positively changing the transportation industry, and ensuring efficiency and mobility for everyone travelling across Dubai.
Inspired by the increasing user adoption and success of Hala Ride in Dubai, in 2020, the Ras Al Khaimah Roads and Transport Authority (RAK RTA) decided to follow suit and bring the same technological capabilities and convenience to their constituents, which is how Hala Ride Ras Al Khaimah came into being.
Today, Hala continues to simplify people’s lives across the region and deliver an effortless, budget-friendly travel experience. With over 9 million trips booked in 2022 alone and a remarkable 40% growth rate, Hala Ride is quickly becoming the go-to ride-hailing service in the UAE.
