Hakuhodo DY Holdings provides marketing and communications services to advertisers and media companies. The group formed when three challengers for the Japanese advertising title -- Hakuhodo, Daiko Advertising, and Yomiko Advertising -- joined together in 2003 like some robotech warrior to combat the behemoth that is Dentsu. Hakuhodo DY consists of three founding advertising companies plus Hakuhodo DY Media Partners, which houses the media services operations of all the others. Together the group has offices in more than 15 countries. In 2009, Hakuhodo DY Holdings upped its stake to a controlling interest in online advertising agency D.A. Consortium to beef up its digital offerings.
