Funtalk China Holdings makes buying a mobile phone a snap. The Cayman Islands holding company is China's top specialty retailer of mobile phones. Via partnerships with China's three major mobile carriers, China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom, Funtalk operates more than 500 carrier-branded and co-branded retail outlets, offering upward of 2,000 mobile phones from leading international and domestic brands. Brands it carries include Motorola, Nokia, and Sony Ericsson. The company is also a national wholesale distributor of mobile phones; it has exclusive distribution rights on Samsung models in China. While Funtalk China Holdings went public in late 2009, it went private again in mid-2011.
