Technology Innovation Institute (TII) is a pioneering global research and development centre that focuses on new-age technology capabilities. It is the dedicated applied research pillar of the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC). TII has seven initial dedicated research centres:
• Advanced Materials Research Centre (AMRC)
• Autonomous Robotics Research Centre (ARRC)
• Cryptography Research Centre (CRC)
• Digital Security Research Centre (DSRC)
• Directed Energy Research Centre (DERC)
• Quantum Research Centre (QRC)
• Secure Systems Research Centre (SSRC)
TII’s agile approach ensures that it is unhindered by the barriers and bureaucracy often associated with research and development. The Institute advances research rapidly through a defined roadmap, approved funding, and state-of-the-art-facilities.
By working with exceptional talent, universities, research institutions and industry partners from all over the world, TII connects the intellectual community and contributes to building an R&D ecosystem in Abu Dhabi. The Institute pursues the development of breakthrough technologies that have practical use cases and global impact.

Founded in 2020, TII employs over 250 people at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
