Description Suburban K9 was founded in 2006 by Matt Covey. Matt got his start working with rescue groups and humane societies, working with the dogs that were not being adopted out because of their behaviors. Matt worked with these dogs, and rehabilitated their behaviors. Once a dog was adopted out, Matt would work with the dog, as well as the dog's new family, to make sure that everyone was happy going forward and the family knew how to continue making progress with the dog's training. This kept dogs from being returned to the shelter. The families that Matt worked with told their friends and families about Matt, and the company was born through word of mouth. At this time, we started to work with more of the general public and we hired our first additional trainers. We have been growing ever since!
