Description Just to be clear, do not call the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) for information about your Medicare benefits. MedPAC is and independent federal body established to advise the US Congress on issues affecting the Medicare program. MedPAC advises on such issues as payments to private health plans participating in Medicare and providers in Medicare's traditional fee-for-service program. The commission also analyzes access to care and quality of care under the Medicare program. MedPAC conveys the bulk of its recommendations through two reports (issued in March and June of each year) and through comments on reports and regulations, as well as through testimony, and briefings for congressional staff.
