Description The Florida Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA) provides services and government advocacy to promote independence for older Floridians. With more than 20% of Florida's population age 60 or higher, the state is committed to serving the more-experienced segment of the population by creating a long-term care system that is streamlined, cost-effective, and consumer friendly; creating a support network for aging citizens, their family and caregivers; and by creating an elder-friendly environment that values the contributions and needs of older Floridians.
