Past projects include the Singapore Supreme Court building and the flagship hotel of Shangri-La Asia. UE has been increasing its presence in the environmental engineering field, maintaining cooling systems and providing medical waste treatment services. It exited the commodities trading business in 2006. The life insurance division of Great Eastern Holdings owns two-thirds of UE.
