Pogo Jet is a development-stage company that plans to provide private jet charter services between secondary airports, primarily in the northeastern and mid-Atlantic US. Pogo Jet hopes to charge less than other charter services and to attract travelers from commercial airlines by offering nonstop flights and reduced check-in times. The company intends to use Eclipse Aviation 500 very light jets (VLJs), which will carry up to three passengers and two pilots. Pogo Jet filed for an IPO in 2007, but the company eventually withdrew the offering due to unfavorable market conditions. In late 2008, Eclipse Aviation filed for bankruptcy, which also compounded Pogo Jet's problems.
