Our mission is to build a vital community that empowers young people as artists and leaders to develop a creative practice they can sustain throughout their lives.
New Urban Arts is a community art studio in Providence, RI, providing free afterschool and summer programs for public high school students. The vast majority of our students attend a school district that has made severe cuts to the arts, and New Urban Arts helps fill the void. While the arts are our focus, we also provide various other enrichment activities and wraparound services, most notably, post-secondary planning.
