Last weekend, GLDP was incredibly proud to celebrate two exemplary GLDP employees who truly embody our core value of SERVICE! Sarah Velasco, RDH, VP of Clinical Services and Krisbel Renteria, Hygienist at AFD Crest Hill, joined hundreds of dental professionals for a two-day service event called the Illinois Mission of Mercy (IL MOM) in partnership with the Illinois State Dental Society in Peoria, IL. The Illinois Mission of Mercy provides free dental care to patients who otherwise do not have the means or access to quality dental care. It takes 1,000 volunteers like Krisbel and Sarah to run the clinic, and no one is paid for their time or talents. This event brought nearly 1,000 patients per day! Dental services include cleanings, fillings, extractions and more. Mission of Mercy events across America have helped more than 275,000 patients and have provided nearly $190 million in free dental services since 2000. Service work is a cornerstone of our core values at GLDP, and employees like Sarah and Krisbel exemplify this commitment through their actions at the Illinois Mission of Mercy. Volunteering their hygiene skills to those underprivileged and dedicating two days of hard work is truly remarkable.
