Grupo Simec gives new life to scrap steel. The company makes non-flat, structural steel products at its minimills in Guadalajara and Mexicali, Mexico as well as plants in the US. The company's billets are used to manufacture angles, channels, flat bar, I-beams, rebar, and structural angles. Subsidiary Procarsa makes electric resistance welded (ERW) steel pipes and other tubular prducts. Simec's customers include construction contractors, metal fabricators, and steel service centers. The company sells its steel products throughout Mexico and exports to the US. Canada, Central and South America, and Europe are also buyers of Simec's steel products. Industrias CH owns around 85% of the company.
