Description Historic Ships in Baltimore is the steward of the US Sloop-of-War Constellation, US Submarine Torsk, US Coast Guard Cutter Taney, Lightship 116 "Chesapeake", and Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse. It is also the custodian of related artifacts, materials, and histories from these national treasures, celebrating over 200 years of naval and maritime history.

The Museum staff is responsible for routine maintenance and the long-term preservation of the ships, while promoting the Museum as an attraction to the public and securing resources for the immediate and long term financial stability of the organization. Other staff duties include overseeing restoration of the vessels and accompanying exhibit development, preservation and care of the Museum's collection, the development and implementation of educational programming for school and youth groups, and providing job training and service learning opportunities for "at-risk" youth from Baltimore City.
