Mission World Cares Center’s mission is to reduce the harm, suffering, and loss caused by disasters through the empowerment of under-served, at risk communities to prevent everyday accidents and react as educated and skilled ready responders when disasters occur. WCC believes that resiliency is best promoted when all facets of communities are prepared to respond to disasters together to mitigate their inherent risks, thereby reducing human and economic loss and suffering.
Description World Cares Center was founded during the 9.11.2001 relief effort and is a nonprofit that champions leadership from within at risk, under-served communities in disaster preparation and response. Our mission drives our programs which train and protect Ready Responders and advocates for a collective and inclusive response. Through three foundation programs we are leading the inclusion and support of grassroots groups in disaster preparedness and response: The Disaster Volunteerism Academy, The Ready Responders Network and the Boot on the Ground Exercise. In addition to our ongoing programs WCC responds to crisis when our mission can serve the immediate need.
