Too good to be true
May 22, 2023 - Social Worker in New York, NYRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Guaranteed 40 hours weekly. Some co-workers are friendly and welcoming. The kids are fun and hilarious.
Cons
The benefits seems "good" but really aren't. Little to no vacation time monthly/yearly. Management is constantly changing the center rules depending on their mood for the day. More work than described in the lengthy information. No chance for a raise.

Great job but poor management
May 11, 2023 - Early Intervention Specialist in Charleston, SCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The job itself is rewarding. It's amazing to see the kids grow and progress. You also get to build relationships with a lot of families.
Cons
In my experience management was quite poor, at least my direct manager at the time. A lot of micro managing. The turn over rate at this company is very high so they tend to be short staffed. This means unreasonably high caseloads and not enough time in the work day to get things done.

Collaborative and Supportive School
Apr 12, 2023 - Special Education Teacher in Tinley Park, ILRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Easterseals is an incredibly collaborative, supportive environment. The administrative team works hard to make teachers and staff feel heard and understood. Fellow staff, admin, and the students support in making the job manageable.

Being a teacher is hard no matter where you work. This job is demanding.
