I have been working at Easterseals full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great opportunity to work with youth living with trauma. Coworkers are pleasant and generally care for each other. Management is supportive and generally listen to concerns of employees and youth.

    Cons

Unrealistic expectations for completing necessary agency documents, while ensuring the best care for clients. Like most agencies understaffed and enadequate training. Little room for growth.

    Advice to Management

Ensure there is proper staffing for safety of staff and clients.

I worked at Easterseals full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Direct care staff works very hard and are wonderful employees. Administrative staff also work very hard and are wonderful employees. Benefits and time off are excellent

    Cons

Executive staff are wonderful people but don't seem to be able to work well together. Executives have lost sight of the true vision of the organization. Managers work way to many hours.

    Advice to Management

Get back to basics and stop being so worried about yourselves. Remember why you are in the social service industries, to help those that need services.

I worked at Easterseals full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Mission services and assisting people with disabilities

    Cons

The way employees are treated. There are some who have worked for 10 plus years and don't even make 10.00 per hour.I was a store manager. The executive staff for Gesgc can be very conniving and use cut throat tactics.I have worked for other companies with the same tactics.Never in my wildest dreams did I think a company who does so much for the community would treat their employees as they do.I am not referring to all Easter Seal affiliate s.I can only speak of the Easter Seals affiliate in Mobile Alabama.I will give an example.A donor greeter discovered that some art work donated was valuable. It came to 15,000 dollars. They did nothing for this employee.A comment from a VP was someone should by him lunch.Gesgc has lost touch with the mission and how they treat employees.

    Advice to Management

You have a serious morale problem in Mobile Alabama. That is why you can't retain good employees.600 employees and they don't even have an employee of the month to give away a 25.00 gift card.I was doing that out of my pocket.Again this Gesgc in Mobile Al.If you worked for this affiliate and were treated badly. If you are reading this I suggest you add a comment it is very bad here.Thank You.
