Software Engineer - Software Engineer ClutchAnalytics Employee Review

Pros

You will get to work with the best equipment, technologies and some really smart people. The CTO, Jorge, is a huge asset to anyone willing to learn.

Cons

Where to start? The benefits are non-existent. The owner and his cronies from Miami have no respect for software engineering and think we are all idiots. He knows best and does not care for input. The salary is not developer salary, more like BA salary but he gets away with paying this due to the fact he only hires coding bootcamp grads, who are desperate for a job. A side note on this, the relationship they have with the bootcamp is really unhealthy and treats developers like they're nothing. While you will meet some really smart people, the vast majority are in over their heads and the code reads that way. If someone is there more than a year, they either have low self-esteem, are yes men or are related to someone.

Pros

Top notch equipment - When I first started I received a 2014 MBP and I was soon upgraded to the new 2015 MBP. Everyone has dual Thunderbolt displays and motorized standing desks. Snacks on snacks (like Kind bars and K-Cups). Work/life balance is great, most days I would work 9-5. Occasionally might have to stay late to fix a bug, but that's the nature of the industry. Everyone I worked with was smart, motivated, and laid back. Great office culture. Jorge is the man. He's a great leader and the best boss I've ever worked for. I think that his leadership really makes Clutch great - he will do his very best to make sure we have everything to get the job done. If anyone needs any hardware/software/books he will go out and get them personally. He's open to new ideas and technologies, and he's not afraid to jump into the code and work on a problem with you. Overall just a great guy.

Cons

The office is starting to get cramped (a good problem to have) but I think Clutch is moving offices shortly. Also the amount of PTO could be increased, although I never had a problem getting off when I needed to.
