Pros
- Family friendly company - Nice people, one big family (there were quite a few long time employees who were there since the company was founded) - My boss was very flexible and fair - Decent pay for full-time long-term employees - pretty standard benefits were offered; telecommute options; enough vacation time - relatively nice office space * note that this review applies to conditions that were at the corporate office 10-15 years ago, also those who worked in stores may have seen this retail chain as a very different place
Cons
- old fashioned management style, company didn't keep up with times and trends - lot of part time employees, esp. in stores, that did not have the same quality of compensation and benefits - benefits such as health insurance were getting worse yet more expensive over time - some departments had high turnover, didn't train employees adequately - low sales volume over the years lead to more and more stores closing over time and company slowly fading away
