Pros

I learnt a lot during my time in Adam and met some great people along the way. Even though I am not there anymore I will continue following the journey and can't wait to see what they come up with next.

Cons

Maybe a lot of workload but I take it as it helped me learn how to manage my time and find priorities.

Pros

There is a lot of young and motivated people willing to go above and beyond.

Cons

As other negative reviews mention, most of the positive ones seem to be pushed by management. When I started (about 1.5 years ago), the company was doing well, and many of the promises made back then were actually being fulfilled — you could try different things, gain valuable experience, and freely share your opinions. However, since the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, things have changed. The company adopted a “GROW GROW GROW” mindset with no clear structure or logical approach. This led to a rapid but poorly managed expansion, where the focus shifted entirely to chasing higher numbers, and people stopped caring about those actually doing the work. Questionable hires in senior management made things worse, creating a toxic environment where only results mattered — not the people behind them. Combined with a lack of benefits and poor work-life balance (you’re expected to work 9–10 hours a day, Monday to Friday, as a freelancer), this drove many employees to leave or get fired. Overall, the people I worked with were great, but management’s obsession with growth and numbers destroyed what was once a good company.

Adam (Czech Republic) Response

Hey, this is Jakub — co-founder of Adam. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for recognizing the motivation and drive of our team. I'm truly sorry to hear that your experience in the later stage didn’t meet your expectations, but I appreciate your honesty — it helps us reflect and grow. You’re right that especially first half of 2025 was a very intense period for us. We expanded into many new markets quickly, and our internal structure didn’t always keep up. That’s on us as founders — the “grow, grow, grow” push came from being behind our budgeted plan. The strategy hasn't worked out which we later on realized. We reorganized the company in mid-2025. Teams are now smaller, reporting lines are clearer, and managers have more time for individuals. We’ve already seen a big improvement in collaboration, clarity, and morale. On management and culture: we’ve learned a lot from that phase. Leadership hires actually worked out great - I'm constantly getting a great feedback on them from the teams. But we’ve since made changes especially in communication to ensure our culture remains open, respectful, and performance-driven without feeling pushy or even toxic. Trust me, this is not what anyone wants. As for work-life balance and workload, I agree that it was challenging during our hypergrowth stage. We’ve since built much better planning processes, adjusted expectations, and given more ownership to experienced team members to make the pace more sustainable. A regular day is roughly 9–6, but like any startup, there are busier moments — we’re now managing those much better. Ultimately, it depends on what you want — if you value maximum work-life balance, Adam may not be the right place. If you want the fastest learning curve, rapid growth of your market value, and experience to kick off your own business soon — we’re your place. Open communication and feedback have always been a core part of our culture. We’ve always had regular 1:1s with managers where everyone can share their concerns and ideas freely. These conversations help us learn, grow as leaders, and stay true partners to our teams. We continue to hold weekly all-hands meetings where anyone can ask questions directly to the founders and understand the direction of the company. We’re all growing together, learning from feedback, and striving to build something meaningful — a company that combines ambitious growth with a supportive environment. Thank you again for being part of Adam’s journey. I wish you all the best in your next professional chapter. Jakub

Pros

It is great for a career start. You have motivated people around who help you and make your days fun.

Cons

1. Rigid work culture: Employees are not allowed to leave before 18:00, and even leaving at exactly 18:00 is often interpreted as a lack of dedication. 2. Superficial openness: Initially, the environment seems open-minded and receptive to opinions, but when you present a differing viewpoint or raise concerns, they are often dismissed. 3. “Happiness management” pressure: While promoting positivity is a good concept, it can turn toxic if negative emotions are not tolerated. Employees are expected to always agree, and expressing dissent or a bad mood is often criticised. 4. Limited growth opportunities: Career growth is promised, but while some may advance quickly, others stagnate or even regress. The company’s growth pace does not always support widespread advancement, making the promotion of growth seem somewhat overstated. 5. Lack of flexibility: Employees are expected to be highly adaptable and flexible with changes, but very little flexibility is offered in return. There are no opportunities for remote work and limited accommodation for personal matters, such as administrative errands or doctor appointments. Change decisions are made primarily with the company’s interests in mind, rather than considering employees’ well-being in the process.
