Pros

Even if you’re new to a sales role, leads and training are provided

Cons

There are 3 main areas of issue: 1) extremely demanding schedule, 2) poor leadership from the top, and 3) its pay to play. The schedule is 9am to 9pm 5 days a week plus Saturday (and Sunday if they’re unhappy with performance). You receive essentially no time off even on major holidays. The owner of the agency in particular is an incredibly belittling, angry, and demanding person. If you’re not producing where they want you to be, you’re told that you should just quit and that if you want to stay, you’re going to be required even more time and energy than the baseline 9-9 schedule. Lastly, if you’re wanting to step into management, you have weekly dues to pay. This is an incredibly challenging role with very few upsides unless you are willing to spend every spare second working with this company.

Effort is front loaded: this is a hard industry to step into and a lot of effort is required to build up your passive income in your beginning couple of years.

Pros

The money if they give you decent leads.

Cons

They’re not honest about what they expect upfront. They said they train you. Training was inconsistent and unstructured. When recruited they said you have to make 100 calls a day. Then once your in, it’s 200 and they expect you to work from 2pm-9pm M-F, 10am-6pm on Saturday, and if you don’t have any ALP that week, you’re required to make 100 on Sunday. They led me on for a few months. Finally released me to work on my own and be able to make money. This is commission only and you don’t get paid for training (which is a scam). Then once released most of the leads they gave were disconnected or fake numbers, not the cards union members return that I was told we would be selling to. The remainder of the leads were mostly people who filled out a Facebook form at some point in their life but didn’t remember doing so, people who stopped paying a previous policy because they could not afford it, or people who already have policies in place and who don’t need any other coverage. Total setup for failure. I had specifically asked about these things in our initial meeting. He said they don’t allow anyone to fail, they’ll bring them in for more help. Then I was told I needed to probably buy out of state licenses if I wanted better leads. So I spent $300 on those and once those were added in, I got one lead bump with those states added. Unfortunately half of those were also bad and disconnected numbers. Next thing I know I get a call saying they’re terminating my contact. Two sales in three weeks was not enough and I can no longer work there. Then this morning I get $13 for that last sale when it should have been much more. Apparently I had to pay union dues. I thought unions were there to protect workers? In short, I paid over $500 to work there, received less than $90 in return. And the whole process was over the course of 4 months. It took them 3 months to release me, and they gave me 3 weeks to work. I didn’t even get a warning saying hey let’s try to help you and see what we can do or what the issue is. Just one day-sorry you’re done.
