Avoid working at this office like the plague - Optical Manager Envision Optometry Employee Review

Pros

location, decent benefits and hours

Cons

After being a solid employee of this office for years without issue I made a claim of harassing behavior to the owner, Dr. Jaclyn Garlich, and was terminated the next day for "poor job preformance." That alone should tell you enough about the leadership here.

Pros

Everything! It was a great place to work.

Cons

No, I love it there. I had a baby and stayed home.

Pros

Fun and exciting part of the city to work in; you never know who's going to stop by. Employees are NEVER bored; there is always a surplus of back-work/catch-up to do (pro or con, depending on one's personality). Opportunity to become very close to coworkers, since entire day is spent within a few feet of one another and teamwork is crucial. Boss is inspiring, hard-working, and very devoted to the practice's success and the growth of her team.

Cons

Typical small business issues - lack of professionalism/consistency/transparency in terms of HR policies; micromanagement and constant supervision by the boss; inability to enjoy any in-office socializing (due to heavy workload and "on-the-clock" mentality); the fact that the practice is detrimentally effected (for patients and employees) by even one coworker's absence, which seemed to happen at least weekly. Salary is comparable to other medical practices in the area, but does not reflect how well this specific practice is doing; employees should be paid far more for their above-and-beyond behavior and dedication to Envision.
